Grandmaster Flash / во Скопје
On the occasion of 15 years of existence of SureShotz Entertainment in cooperation with 3 Gong, we are proud to announce the guest appearance of one of the most influential people in Hip Hop culture – Grandmaster Flash. The event, which is part of his “Hip-Hop: People, Places and Things” tour, will take place on February 26 / Tuesday at Club 26, at 21:00. For the first time, he will present a two-hour set for the Skopje audience, which will be a musical timeline, and educate everything about hip-hop from the 70’s to the present.
The name Joseph Saddler probably does not mean much, but if we tell you Grandmaster Flash, it will surely become much clearer. The hip-hop pioneer, the Skopje audience will have the opportunity to listen for the first time live on February 26 at the club Station 26, thanks to 3 Gong and SureShotz Entertainment. This rap legend was born in Barbados in 1958, and his love for the gramophone was born to him in his teens years after moving with his family to Bronx. She began her career in the early ’70s, as a DJ at private parties along with Kurtis Blow and Lovebug Starski. In the mid-70s, he formed his first group, featuring Cowboy, Melle Mel, and The Kidd Creole. The band was originally called “Grandmaster Flash and the 3 MCs”, and will remain remembered that its member Cowboy has invented the term “Hip Hop”, and Melle Mel is the first to call himself MC (Master of Ceremony). By joining Rahiem and Scorpio, the band is in the “Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five” and continues to be a history. Some of their “highlights” include the release of two cult albums (“The Message” (1982) and “On the Strength” (1988), the single The Message, which is still considered one of the best of all times, are the first hip-hop group to become a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. While studying the styles of his idols, Grandmaster Flash has created some of the techniques that to this day are a standard part of dj science (Backspin Technique, Punch Phrasing and Scratching). In the last decade he released a memorial, started his own radio show, won the “BET I am Hip-Hop Icon” award, appeared on a video game, and his character is part of the Netflix series “The Get Down”. The man whom they consider to be the main “culprit” that the record player today is a musical instrument, is currently working on its 12th studio album.
